

Marcelo dos Santos Amaro (30 April 1975, Porto Alegre). Stage name, Marcelo Amaro. Continue to honor the cultural and ancestral heritage of your grandparents.
He is a talented samba player by vocation, as well as a drummer, percussionist, singer, composer, educator and music producer. Marcelo began his artistic career in 1994, where he joined samba and pagode groups. He was a co-founder of the Associação Cultural de Oficineiros, and informally taught Music Workshops in dozens of Community Centers in Porto Alegre. Currently, he continues to develop this work in NGOs, schools and the like. However, today he has a degree in Music from the Brazilian Conservatory of Music in RJ. He created a musical teaching method for Percussion instruments.
Throughout his career, he has accompanied and recorded with a variety of renowned artists, both local and national, including: Bedeu, Luís Vagner, Berenice Azambuja, Jamelão, Jovelina Pérola Negra, Dona Ivone Lara, Almir Guineto, Neguinho da Beija-Flor , Monarco, Walter Alfaiate, Noca da Portela, Wilson Moreira, João Donato, João Martins, Renato da Rocinha, Galocantô, among other great names in samba and dance
Brazilian music.
Over the last 10 years, Marcelo Amaro has been developing his independent solo artistic work. He also created the Viva Percussão Festival
and his samba circle Canjerê do Amaro.
To date, he has released four albums, five singles and one audiovisual project. Currently, he is in the pre-production phase of his fifth album, entitled "MARCELO AMARO - NO AXÉ DO CANJERÊ", which promises to bring a significant turn in his career, an Ep with 7 tracks, with a cast of music stars, arrangements bold, contemporary, full of drums from around the world, special appearances and a Web Series. All this with a focus on themes such as: Education, Counterculture, Love, Yabás, Matriarchs, Ancestry, Gratitude, Axé, Spirituality, Resilience, Empathy, Respect, Hope, abundance and the joy.
